My love of nature photography started when I was 14. I picked up a cheap point-and-shoot camera and started photographing birds, deer, trees, and whatever else I could find in my backyard. Photography quickly taught me to see the world differently. I started noticing the beauty in simple scenes that I had previously overlooked.
Over the years, my passion for nature photography has only increased. Even though I live in the sprawling metroplex of Dallas, Texas, I capitalize on every chance I get to grab my camera and head outside. My favorite way to spend a Saturday is getting up early and driving to a nearby state park. I also love making occasional trips to Colorado and exploring Rocky Mountain National Park. There's just something special about setting your alarm before dawn, hiking through the dark wilderness, and setting up your tripod while the sun begins to warm the sky. Sometimes those hikes pay off with a once-in-a-lifetime photo. But even when the clouds don't cooperate and the pictures are disappointing, I leave with a clear mind and lungs full of fresh air.
Please take a few minutes to look around. I'm certainly not a professional, but over the years, some of my photos have been used by the Smithsonian, the Farmers Almanac, Game & Fish Magazine, and the Discovery Channel. I've uploaded some of my favorite photos for you to enjoy. If you'd like to use any of them, don't hesitate to contact me using the form below.
